Extensively trained at the Culinary Institute of America in New York, Chef Robert Gayle has demonstrated his superior talents and his creative abilities for more than 20 years to some of America’s most recognizable celebrities including Russell Simmons, P. Diddy, L.A. Reid, Jennifer Lopez, Akon, LethonFlowers, and Dikembe Mutombo, just to name a few.

Known to many as “Chef Rob,” his fascination with culinary arts began when he obtained his first job at age 13, working as a steward in Brooklyn, New York.  As his career progressed, he gained extensive experience and knowledge in French, Italian, and American cuisines. In 1997, Chef Rob was sought by music mogul, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, to helpdevelop the concept of Justin’s Restaurant, Atlanta. The Scoop: Somewhere between fine dining and Mom & Pop, just outside the perimeter, you’ll find Chef Rob cooking up his signature Caribbean-inspired food in an unassuming Sandy Springs shopping center. He traded his gig of cooking for celebrities like P. Diddy (Puff Daddy? Sean Puffy Combs? you know that guy), Jennifer Lopez, L.A. Reid and Russell Simmons so he couldcookthe kind offood he truly loves – and do it in his own place. And this little Jamaican shop would be that place. The menu at Chef Rob’s is a reflection of his lifetime in the kitchen. From growing up in Jamaica and the West Indies, he brings up his perfectly spicy jerk seasoning. And from his years at Culinary Institute of America, he’s added his creative fusion of flavors from all over the world.
